Garfield Thomas Jones

1934 - 2008

It is with great sadness that the family of Garfield Jones announces his passing on January 17, 2008 in Kimberley, B.C., at the age of 73 years.

Gar was born, raised and educated in Kimberley, British Columbia. After high school graduation in 1952 he began his machinist apprenticeship at Cominco. He was a master of his trade. Gar retired from Cominco on October 15, 1990.

Gar is survived by his son Brian (Shelly), daughter Janice (Terry), grandchildren Jessica, Trev (Stephanie), John, Joe and Michelle, great grandson Dallas, sister Cynthia (Dave), nephews Doug and Dean (Heather), grandnephew Sean, grandniece Hailey and special friend and companion Janet Corney. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Gar was predeceased by his parents; father Bill in 1987 and mother Doreen in 1989 and his wife Karen in 1999. A funeral service in honour of Garfield will be held on Friday, January 25th, 2008 at 2:00 pm at McPherson Funeral Chapel in Kimberley, BC (1885 - Warren Avenue).
