Obituary of Alan Schofield
On Wednesday, February 20th, 2008, Alan snuck out of Columbia House closing the door behind him so he could have breakfast with his Lord and Savior. He'd waited, patiently, in line, for more than 82 years.
Waiting to join him at the table is his wife, Betty, whom he loved, unconditionally, with his whole being. There's also his beloved daughter, Margaret, who meant the world to him, her husband, Greg, and their two children, William and Christine who gave Alan so much joy, especially with their music and story telling. Alan's brother, Ray, and his wife, Norma, will join him later at the banquet. Alan has nieces and nephews in Victoria, Vancouver, Campbell River and Manchester, England. There are also relatives and dear friends on Vancouver Island, especially Don Royston. For many years, Alan was a custodian in the Greater Victoria school district where he kept hallways and classrooms spotlessly clean. Often, he shared tidbits from his lunch with less fortunate students. Alan will be lovingly remembered by all of us.Gingersnaps, anyone?
A Celebration of Thanksgiving will be held on Wednesday, February 27th at one o'clock in Lake Windermere Alliance Church (Invermere) with Pastor Jared Enns officiating.Donations may be made to Eagle Bay Camp, c/o LWAC
