Obituary of Bruno Cecco

It is with great sadness that the family of Bruno Fioravanti Cecco, announces his passing on Thursday, February 21, 2008. Bruno passed away the way he lived, quietly and peacefully with family at his side. Bruno was born April 15, 1927 in Wycliffe, B.C.

In 1936 Bruno moved to Zoppola, Italy with his family. At the age of 20 Bruno returned to Kimberley to create the kind of life he wanted to lead. Bruno was a well known and respected member of the community. He was the East Kootenay representative of the Italian General Consulate and a life member of the 3 rd and 4 th degree Knights of Columbus.

Bruno is survived by his loving and caring wife Vera, of 55 years, his daughter Liana (Bob) Horkoff, sons Larry (Pamela) and Robert, his grandchildren Jana, Lanny, Leyland, Julian, Milana, and Adrian whose loving memories of their Nonno will last a lifetime.

He is also survived by his sister Luisa in Italy and predeceased by sister Nellie.

Bruno will be remembered for his gentle presence, support of family and acts of kindness.

Prayers will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at the McPherson Funeral Home in Kimberley, BC.Funeral Mass at 11:00 am Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at the Sacred Heart Parish in Kimberley, BC.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cominco Garden Fund C/O 99 Howard St. Kimberley, BC V1A 2G9. Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service.
