Sharon Barber passed away peacefully at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital on March 3, 2008 surrounded by her friends and family.

Sharon was born September 24, 1949 in Herbert, Saskatchewan. Sharon attended school in Calgary and received her RN diploma from the Foothills Hospital in 1970. While in training she met and maintained a special bond with her classmates from the Class of '70. She married Leith Barber on July 31, 1971. In 1996 Leith and Sharon moved to Cranbrook and opened up M&M Meat Shops. Sharon loved the community and the people that made it so special. Sharon was working at Medichair - Cranbrook and was an active member of Xi Delta Iota Sorority. Sharon will be remembered as a loving wife, mom and grandma by her son Todd (Stephanie), and daughter Stephanie (Lester), grandkids Austin, Paige, Ashley, Alysha and Lester.

Sharon is survived by her sister Anita (Bill) in Brooks, Alberta and brother Duane (Win) in Regina, Saskatchewan, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other special friends.

A Memorial service will be at McPherson Funeral Chapel in Cranbrook at 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 8, 2008.
