Obituary of Dorotea Bertoia

April 21, 1926 - August 1, 2008

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of beloved wife and nona Dorotea Bertoia at 82 years of age on August 1, 2008 in Cranbrook, British Columbia.

Born April 21, 1926, in San Giovanni, Italy, Dorotea loved gardening, sewing, baking, singing and creating clothes and toys for her grandchildren, family and friends.

Dorotea is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Lorenzo Bertoia; son John (Sandra) Bertoia; daughter Lorraine (Kevin) Bonell; Grandchildren: Barry Bonell, Marcus Bonell, Kaila Bonell, Giuliana Janell Bertoia, Lorenzo Nicola Bertoia and one brother Oreste who resides in Italy.

Dorotea was predeceased by her mother Bambina Pasut Castellarin, father Luigi Pasut, sister Maria, and brothers Sisto and Giocondo of Italy and Piero of Argentina.

Prayers for Dorotea will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kimberley on Tuesday, August 5th, 2008 at 7:00 pm. Her Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, August 6th, 2008 at 1:00 pm at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kimberley.

Memorial donations in honour of Dorotea can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon, Okanagan and Kootenay Area Office, 4 - 1551 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, British Columbia, V1Y 9M9 or the Canadian Cancer Society, 19 9th Avenue South, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 2L9.
