Obituary of Kevin Grocutt

Please share a memory of Kevin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

November 17, 1967 - July 8, 2008

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the sudden tragic loss of Kevin Lee Grocutt who was a great father, husband, son, brother, nephew, cousin, friend and co-worker.

Kevin was born in Michel, B.C. on November 17, 1967. Kevin and his family were one of the last to leave Natal, B.C. and relocate to Sparwood, B.C. When Kevin was 12 his family moved to Cranbrook where he made many, many special friends that became like family. Kevin met and married the love of his life Anne Marie MacDonald and together they produced the greatest love of his life, their daughter Alyssa who meant the world to him. Alyssa was the stars in the heavens above to her dad. She could make him smile and laugh in a heart beat. Kevin always knew he wanted to become a mechanic. In fact, we are sure he was born with a wrench in his hand. He started his mechanical career early helping Richie Richmond at his shop and moved onto his first full time job at K-Mart Automotive. When K-Mart shut its doors he went into a business adventure with his long time friend and co-worker. From there he managed Purcell Automotive and decided he needed a change which brought him into the Heavy Duty Mechanic field with Finning Canada which he considered his dream job.

He is survived by his wife Anne Marie, daughter Alyssa, mother Janet, step-father Pat, sister Tammy (Bill), step-brother Rob (Jo-el), mother-in-law Alice, brother-in-laws Dan (Karen), John, George (Sylvia), numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, special nieces Bailey, Jesse (Mark), Angela, nephew Roy and so many special friends and co-workers.

Service will be held at the Alliance Church (1200 Kootenay Street North) on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 2:00 pm. Reception to follow at the Grocutt residence 506 - 28th Avenue South Cranbrook, B.C.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Huntington Society of Canada via 151 Fredrick St, Suite 400, Kitchener, Ontario N2H 2M2 or through their website www.huntingtonsociety.ca
