Norma Stedile passed away in Cranbrook, British Columbia at 86 years young. Norma was born October 30, 1921 in Venn Saskatchewan.

She is survived by her Loving Husband of 63 years, Victor Stedile; son, Denis (Sandee) of Abbotsford, British Columbia; daughter, Penny Newcombe of Cranbrook, British Columbia; four grandchildren, Corie (Sarah) Stedile, Jodi (Jay) Yates, Kelly (Derek) Lefler, Jason (Trista) Newcombe and three great grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her sisters Doris Schebel and Lily Gegner of Regina, Saskatchewan and many nieces and nephews, plus all who knew her.

Norma was predeceased by her brothers Lawrence, Morris and Herman Gegner and her loving son-in-law Bob Newcombe. Norma moved to Vancouver, British Columbia from Saskatchewan in 1943 where she met her husband Victor and married him in 1944. In 1946 they moved to Nelson, British Columbia, where they raised their family until their final move to Cranbrook, British Columbia in 1997. Norma's love for cooking and gardening was only surpassed by her passion for quilting. She leaves behind a legacy of handmade quilts for each generation including those to still come.

A memorial Service for Norma will be held at McPherson Funeral Chapel in Cranbrook on Thursday, April 3rd, 2008 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Ron Foubister officiating followed by a brief graveside service at Westlawn Cemetery.

We, the Family, would like to give a special thanks to all the staff at Joseph Creek Extended Care Facility for the care and kindness they showed to our beloved Norma.
