Please share a memory of Isaiah to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

The College of the Rockies will be holding a memorial service for their student, Isaiah Otieno, who was the pedestrian killed in the tragic helicopter crash in Cranbrook, BC last week. Otieno had been studying at College of the Rockies since 2006 taking business administration and university transfer courses. President and CEO Dr. Nick Rubidge noted that the tall, pleasant Kenyan had made many friends amongst both the student body and College staff. "Isaiah was always a cheerful presence on campus, he had a wonderful gentle nature and was an excellent ambassador for his nation," he said. "In cooperation with the Kenya High Commission to Canada, and at the request of his family in Nairobi, the College is honoured to host this public memorial service for family, friends, staff and colleagues to honour Isaiah's memory," Dr. Rubidge continued. "The College, and in particular our International Department, has been attempting to make this sad journey as uncomplicated as possible for the Otieno family and to accommodate their requests. We sincerely hope the media and the public will respect their need for privacy and show them the genuine sympathy we all feel."

The memorial service will be held in the gymnasium at the College of the Rockies, 2700 College Way, Cranbrook, BC at 11 am on Thursday, May 22.
