February 7, 1928 - March 20, 2009
It is with heartfelt sorrow that the family of Earl "Blondie" Blundell announce his passing on March 20, 2009 after a lengthy illness. He is now at peace with his one true love Annie who passed away April 9, 2000.
Earl was affectionately called "Gong Gong" by his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Earl was an avid outdoorsman who loved life and all it had to offer: everything from snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, or just the many "events" at the family home at Wasa. Earl also had a passion for music and to entertain people with his piano playing. Earl also enjoyed travelling and truly enjoyed his trips down south every winter with Annie.
He leaves to mourn his passing his son Ed (Roxanne) of Wasa Lake, BC; 2 daughters: Theresa (John) Lewis of Creston, BC and Cheryl (Jim) Penson of Kimberley, BC; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. Earl also leaves behind 2 brothers: Thomas of Penticton, BC; Edgar (Marsha) of Kamloops, BC; a sister: Judy Radelet of Parksville, B.C. and a foster sister: Joanne Smith of Kamloops, BC.
A friendly gathering of friends and family to Celebrate Earl's Life will be held at the Kimberley Elks Hall located at 240 -Howard Street on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 2:00 pm. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in honour of Earl may do so to the: East Kootenay S.P.C.A., Box 2, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 4H6 or to the: Kimberley Special Care Home, 386 - 2nd Avenue, Kimberley, British Columbia, V1A 2Z8.
