Obituary of Doreen May Kilgore

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Doreen May Kilgore announces her passing on Saturday, September 25, 2010 in Cranbrook, British Columbia at 81 years of age.

Doreen was born on March 4, 1929 in Victoria, British Columbia. Family was very important to Doreen. She would remember everyone's birthday, anniversary and any other important date or event in her family's lives. Doreen loved flowers and gardening. She especially enjoyed knitting for all her grandchildren. The cabin at Birch Lake was one of her favourite places.

Doreen is survived by her husband Robert; children Jim (Jane) Corkle, Bill (Karen) Corkle, Brian (Wendy) Corkle, Janice (Alvin) Robertson; step-children Glenda Schiiler, Patricia (Lee) Stalker, Roberta (Bob) Melander; 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one sister Viola White; and three nieces Lori (Charlie) Toovey, Patricia White and Joanne White (John). She was predeceased by her first husband Vern Corkle and one granddaughter Carla Corkle.

A Celebration of Life Service for Doreen will take place on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Yahk-Kingsgate Community Hall. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in honour of Doreen may do so to the: B. C. Lung Association, 2675 - Oak Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, V6H 2K2.
