1909 - 2010

Ann was born on May 17, 1909 as one of 13 children to Michael and Mary Orcheski in Lake Demay, Alberta. She died peacefully in her sleep at the Citadel Care Centre in St. Albert, Alberta on October 2, 2010. Ann was predeceased by husband Jimmy in 1964 in Cranbrook, British Columbia, youngest son, Jim Gordon, 2005, in Calgary, Alberta, grandson Zachary Meister, 2006, in St. Albert, Alberta and nine siblings.

Ann spent her first years living in the Camrose area and worked as a Dental Assistant. She was married to Jimmy Gordon and moved to Cranbrook in June 1933 where they raised 7 children. Following Jimmy's death, Ann worked as receptionist in the York Hotel in Cranbrook. After retirement, she enjoyed seniors' pottery and painting groups, receiving awards for Artistic Merit. Ann took great pleasure in travelling to Scotland, the Holy Land and Australia. She was an active member of St. Mary's and Christ the Servant Catholic parishes and was a member of the Catholic Women's League for 79 years (1931 - 2010). After living in Cranbrook for over 70 years, Ann moved to St. Albert, Alberta with daughter Noreen in 2006.

Ann will be lovingly remembered by daughters Noreen Kennedy, St. Albert, Alberta, Mary Carmichael (Brian) Kamloops, British Columbia, sons Dennis (Mary Anne) Cranbrook, British Columbia, Jack (Beth) Barbados, WI, Alan (Karen) Cranbrook, British Columbia, Ian, (Cathy) Airdrie, Alberta and daughter-in-law Sandi Gordon, Airdrie, Alberta, 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, as well as many much loved nieces and nephews. Ann will be missed by brothers Clarence (Lamona) Claresholm, Alberta, Anton, Camrose, Alberta and sister Catherine George, Fernie, British Columbia.

Prayers for Ann will be held on Friday, October 15, 2010 at 7:30 pm at Christ the Servant Roman Catholic Church in Cranbrook. Her funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on October 16, 2010 at Christ the Servant Roman Catholic Church, (1100 - 14th Avenue South). Cremation preceded the service.

Ann's Interment will take place in the Catholic Cemetery following the service. A reception will be held following the graveside service in Christ the Servant Parish Hall.
