My heart goes out to Clayton's family. I am terribly sorry for your loss. I first met Clayton through playing softball as a young girl (I am now 26 years old). He was an umpire at many of my games (I was a catcher) throughout many, many years of playing ball. He always had an inspirational word, a joke or two and a giant smile - even in the wee early mornings on a tournament weekend! A couple of years ago I ran into Clayton at his store and was surprised to see that he remembered me from our years of ball together. He would keep me informed about a new ladies fastball league that was close to starting up, or any news on the ball side of things! It was only a short while ago that he congratulated me on my engagement which was in the paper! It was hearwarming that he remembered to mention these things to me! Clayton was a great asset to the local ball association, I am certain that he touched the lives of other local players, just as he did mine! I wish his family peace and comfort in their time of mourning! Jolene Fodor
