October 8, 1926 - September 28, 2008

It is with great sadness that the family of Catherine Taylor announce her peaceful passing on September 28, 2008 at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook.

Born October 8, 1926 in Preston Lancashire, England, Catherine grew up and attended school in Preston. Living through the depression years and the Second World War, Catherine had many different war time effort jobs which included working on submarine propellers and constructing wing tips on Lancaster Bombers. During the war, Catherine met Lawrence Edgar (Larry) Taylor while he was stationed in England with the Canadian Army. Catherine immigrated from Preston, England to Vancouver, British Columbia to join Lawrence. They were married April 8, 1947 and remained married for over 61 years. Catherine raised three children and was always a devoted wife and mother. She was a huge Vancouver Canuk fan and a great hockey fan in general. Catherine was always considered a Loyal Patriot to her country, Canada.

Catherine leaves to mourn her passing: her husband Lawrence Taylor; son Neil; daughter Lynn and her son Lee; 3 sisters: Teresa, Isabel and Jean; 4 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

A memorial service for Catherine will take place at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 2nd, 2008 at Christ The Servant Catholic Church located at: 1100 14th Avenue South in Cranbrook with father Conrado Beloso presiding.
