Obituary of Ormand Waite

July 9, 1947 - October 19, 2008

"Where do I begin to tell the story of how greatour love has been, a sweet Love Story"

Following a courageous battle with lymphoma and related complications, it is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ormand "Orm" Waite on Sunday, October 19, 2008 at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital.

He will be dearly missed by his cherished family: loving wife, Vicki, son Travis (Kim and daughters Jadyn and Kiera), daughter Krista and the star in his sky, granddaughter, Shayna, as well as his ever-faithful companion, Cassie. He also leaves to mourn his passing his mother Dorlaine and mother-in-law, Catherine McCormick plus a large family and extended family.

Orm was predeceased by his father Reginald Waite, brother Craig Waite, father-in-law, Ivan McCormick and brothers-in-law, Herb McCormick and Larry Anderson. Next to his immense love for his wife and children, Orm's love of music was tremendous. Since a very young boy, Orm loved his music and his band, Bushwak, played for many events throughout the years in the East Kootenay area. In most recent years, Orm developed an interest in songwriting and did make a CD of his compilations for his family to enjoy which will be an everlasting treasure.

Orm leaves behind a multitude of close friends and colleagues who all share in the family's grief and loss.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully accepted to The Ormand Waite Memorial Scholarship, c/o Selkirk Secondary School, 405 Halpin Street, Kimberley, BC V1A 2H1………in memory of a wonderful life lost much too soon.

A Celebration of Orm's life will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the Royal Canadian Legion commencing at 2:00 p.m.
