Obituary of Karen Guthrie

Born: April 01, 1950 in New Westminster, British Columbia

Passed Away: November 4, 2008 in Calgary, Alberta

After a courageous battle with Cancer and other illnesses, Karen passed away peacefully with family at her side in the Foothill Hospital ICU, in Calgary on November 4, 2008 at 58 years of age.

Karen is survived by: mother Vera Doutaz (Surrey), loving husband Bill (Cranbrook), sons Barry (Lindsay) and Toby Lachuk (both of Vernon), brother Mike (Carol) Doutaz (Logan Lake), sister Francis (Donald) Carter (Surrey), brother Stephen (Terri) Doutaz (Kamloops) and step son Aaron Guthrie (currently of Melbourne Australia).

Karen was predeceased by her father John Doutaz of Surrey, British Columbia in 2000.

Karen's first love was always her family. Karen's passions were gardening and baking.

A funeral service for Karen will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 15th, at McPherson's Funeral Home in Cranbrook.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made the East Kootenay Foundation for Health for equipment for both the Emergency & ICU units for East Kootenay Regional Hospital, c/o 13 - 24th Avenue North, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 3H9.
