Obituary of Jack Potyok

June 22 1928 - December 5, 2008

Jack passed away peacefully on December 5, 2008 at Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta at 80 years of age, and went to join his wife Ruth. He was a real Jack of all trades which ranged from being an extraordinary musician, to a Chef, to a sawyer, to an auto-bodyman, to a boat builder, to a piano technician, to a violin and instrument repair luthier.

He had a kind soul, a generous spirit, with a loyal, loving heart, was a father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle who taught by example. Jack is survived by his brother Del Regan (Potyok); sons: Murray and Rick (Jan), daughter Sharron Schornagel (David); grandchildren: Shawn Potyok (Leahh), Corby, Vanessa, Kris, Gordon, Christopher, Brian, Jodi (Brian) Gardner, Idris Schornagel; great grandchildren: Austyn, Pierce, Idris Gardner and Isaias Schornagel. He is also survived by a special friend Olive Gladue.

He was predeceased by his wife Ruth, brother Ken, his mother and his father. A funeral service for Jack will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 11, 2008 at McPherson's Funeral Home in Cranbrook.

A luncheon will be served at McPherson's Funeral Home after the Interment in Westlawn Cemetery.
