Obituary of James Cox
January 23, 1939 - December 1, 2008
Jim passed away on Monday, December 1, 2008 at home with his family by his side. He was born in Kimberley, British Columbia and lived most of his life there. Jim had a great love of the outdoors where he enjoyed fishing, camping, and huckleberry picking. He was extremely proud of his garden and his yard. When getting out became more difficult for him, watching birds became one of his favourite pastimes. Jim had a love of all animals. He also enjoyed watching hockey and baseball.
Jim leaves to mourn his passing: his loving wife Patsy of 49 years; children: Shari (Red) Oscarson; Jody (Lynne) Cox, Jamie Cox (Mandy), Lisa Cox (Joe Ambrosio); grandchildren: Ryan (Chantelle), Lyndsey (Dustin), Ashley, Kayte, Mara, Eilish, Tivohn, Karly, Taylor, Eli and Reid; great grandchildren: Isaiah and Jorja; brother Bobby (Doreen) Cox, and sister: Arlene (Rod) Downie. Jim was pre-deceased by his parents Bill and Katie Cox; a sister Diane Sorenson and by his many dogs.
At Jim's request there will not be a service. A private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his honour at the East Kootenay S.P.C.A., Box 2, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 4H6.
