Obituary of Susan Bette McCarthy

June 12, 1958 - November 27, 2013

We are saddened to announce the passing of Susan Bette McCarthy after a lengthy battle with cancer. Susan passed away peacefully in her home in Wasa, BC on Wednesday, November 27, 2013.

Sue had worked for many years at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital as a registered nurse. She enjoyed watching hockey on television and especially enjoyed going to Kootenay Ice games. Sue also enjoyed watching baseball games in Wasa.

Susan is survived by her partner and caregiver Gary McCarthy, sisters: Fran (John) Otway, Liz (John) Blaby; Brothers: Ernest Doe and Al Doe, nieces: Cathy Otway & Vicky Otway, nephews: John Otway, Chris Blaby and Alex Blaby, stepdaughter Cary McCarthy and her best friend Julie Kneller.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Wasa Community Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wasa Lions Club.
