When I remember â??Crindaâ?? I am flooded with memories of laughter and fun â?? her revolving Vilas coffee table covered with treats at Christmas â?? homemade root beer, pine cones in the fireplace that sparked with colours after being soaked in her chemical concoction, French Canadian Tourtiere meat pie, her maple walnut chiffon cake â?? a secret family recipe she shared with me â?? I made it and served it with pride for years and then one day found it in my only cookbook (at the time), Purity Cook Book. We shared a good laugh over that. I remember sitting around her kitchen table strewn with magazines on fashion, cooking, crafts. etc. I think she read all of these so she could talk with us when we were teenagers and have something in common. You were always comfortable talking at Crindaâ??s kitchen table and there was no better listener. I remember summer vacations with the Andersonâ??s and all the practical jokes we played on poor Clarinda because she was such a good target with her deep, wonderful laugh and great sense of humour.Sending my love to all the family.
