Obituary of Rosa Nastasi

1909 - 2008

Rosa passed away peacefully at her home in Cranbrook surrounded by her loving family on December 30, 2008.

A devout Catholic, Rosa has gone home to be with the Lord.

Rosa was born August 26, 1909 in Bovalino, Marina (RC) Italy. She came to Canada in 1955 along with 3 of her children to start their new life with her husband Carlo and son Pasquale. Through hard work and dedication she achieved the respect of all who knew her. Her passions were her family, gardening and cooking for all who came through her door.

Rosa is survived by her children Giuseppina Romeo, Pasquale Nastasi (Irene), Palma Pelle (Giuseppe), Bruno Nastasi (Pina); grandchildren: Bruno (Tina), Carlo (Rita), Joe (Patty) Cristina, Lucy (Darren), Carl (Renata), Belinda (Walter), Patricia (Vito), Rosina (Daryle), Rosa (Joe), Pina (Tony), Claudio (Sonia), Marcella (Gabriele), Romina, Pamela (Brad) and Stephanie; great grandchildren: Josie (Steven), Joey, Joseph, Jessica, Cristopher, Ross, Jessica, RJ, Gina, Trent, Brandon, Justin, Madison, Brooklyn, Stephanie, Kristen, Jonathon, Julia, Matthew, Melissa, Alessia, Alessandro, Gabriele, Letizio, Maia, and Jonah, as well as many relatives and friends in Italy and Canada.

She was predeceased by her husband Carlo Nastasi, her brother Tommaso Fazzari and son-in-law Giuseppi Romeo. ~ Per Cento Anni Nana ~

Prayers for Rosa will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 7:00 pm at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Cranbrook. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Cranbrook.

Entombment will follow at the Mausoleum in Westlawn Cemetery.
