Obituary of Gordon Ballance

August 22, 1920 - February 6, 2009

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Gordon Ballance at the F. W. Green Memorial Home in Cranbrook on February 6, 2009. Gordon was born and grew up in Alberta. He joined the Air Force in 1941. He married Kathleen and lived in the Penticton area where he went to work for CP Rail. He moved his family to Cranbrook in 1962 and continued working here until his retirement in 1984. Gordon was a volunteer at the Co-op store for many years.

Left to mourn his passing are his loving wife Kathleen; sons: Bryan (Susan), Colin (Gail), Richard (Gail), Mark, Tim (Cori), Robert; two daughters: Susan (David) Bullock, and Sally Pergentile; 24 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his son Graeme. A service of remembrance for Gordon will be held at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 3:00 pm. No flowers by request.
