Rose and Jack were married for 61 years. They lived in numerous places: farmed in Weyburn, Saskatchewan; had an orchard and 2 restaurants in Oliver, British Columbia; and owned a hotel in Cranbrook. Green Memorial Home for the last two years.

Rose leaves behind her loving daughters: Luella Steffen of Kamloops, Eileen (Len) Fisher of Penticton, Phyllis Becker of Kelowna, Lillian (Clary) McKay of Cranbrook, Sharon (Enzo) Fantuz of Cranbrook; 18 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; a sister: Helen Swaney of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan; plus numerous nieces and nephews.

Rose was predeceased by her husband Jack Dorwart in 1990; her parents Ma and Pa Jacobs; and brothers: Bill Jacobs, Art Jacobs and Walter Jacobs; sisters: Elsie Dodds and Tillie Kilbach; son-in-law's: Doug Becker, and Ed Steffen.

Visitation for Rose will take place at Mount Zion Lutheran Church in Cranbrook at 9:30 am on Monday, March 2, 2009 followed by her Celebration of Life Service which will commence at 11:00 am. Her Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery.
