Bruce Edward Thorpe passed away suddenly in Kimberley, British Columbia on February 10, 2009 at 50 years of age.
Bruce was born in Teulon, Manitoba on January 28, 1959. Bruce lived in Prince George, British Columbia for many years before moving to Cranbrook in 2004. In 2004, Bruce and Nancy fell in love and resided as husband and wife until his passing. Nancy has 3 children who Bruce accepted as his own. Bruce was calm man, but those he loved he loved fiercely. The relationship that Bruce had with his son Jordan remained strong even though Jordan remained with his mom in Prince George. Bruce will be sorely missed and forever in the hearts of those he left behind.
Remaining to mourn Bruce's passing are his wife Nancy and her children: Amber, Brandon and Candace; Bruce's son Jordan; his daughter Shelma (Aaron); 2 grandchildren: Corbin and Caleb; his brothers: Bill and Glen (Cheryl); one nephew: Jason; his sisters: Leslie, Betsy, Carol (Phil), Gail and Leanne; father-in-law Roland; mother-in-law: Therese; brother-in-law: James; sister-in-law: Sara; as well as their 4 children, several uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Bruce was predeceased by his father Robert Roy Thorpe and his mother Wynona Joyce Thorpe (nee Chapel).
A Celebration of Life Service for Bruce will be held at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 11:00 am. Cremation will precede the service.
Bruce will have a plaque placed on the Book of Remembrance in Serenity Gardens in Cranbrook at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial contribution in honour of Bruce may do so to the: Heart & Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon, Cranbrook Unit, #101, 105 - 9th Avenue South, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 2M1.
