I was a work colleague of Monique when I worked in Calgary in the early 80's. I always found her to be a lively energetic person with a refreshing perspective on life. I am so sorry to hear that she has died so tragically. Although we were not in touch during the past few years I still remember out friendship like it was yesterday. Kya, your mom was the most incredible person I have ever had the privilege to know. The years that we spent together have had such a huge impact on my life, and I have never stopped thinking about you both. My heart is broken for you Kya, and for all of Monique's family and many dear friends. I miss her wonderful, dirty laugh and her high spirited way of speaking, and her incredible passion and talent.
