Obituary of Eileen Mary Hargreaves

October 9, 1925 - May 14, 2010

Leenie passed away peacefully at the Kimberley Special Care Home (The Pines) Friday, May 14, 2010. She was predeceased by her husband Jack in August of 2003. She is survived by her children: Mary Anne (Tom) Datt , Jaquline (Gordon) Benton , Jamie Hargreaves, grandsons: Adam and Kiefer, Terry (Wayne) Hockley; her faithful companion Niki; her sister Iris Wallach; nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends.

Leenie was a kind, thoughtful person who touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She loved to garden, sew, bake and spend time with family and friends. She loved to tell stories of her childhood growing up in Wycliffe. For many years Leenie was an active member of the Marysville Hospital Auxiliary, a Brownie Leader, and active in a bowling league. Leenie had a wonderful sense of humour, a very sharp mind and was full of wisdom. She was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

At her request, there will not be a funeral service. A Celebration of Leenie's Life will be held on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at the home of Terry and Wayne Hockley, 118 Norton Ave., Kimberley, BC. From 1:00 - 4:00 Those wishing to remember Leenie may do so by making a donation in her honour to the: Heart & Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon, Cranbrook Unit, #101, 105 - 9th Avenue South, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 2M1.
