1920 - 2009
It is with great sorrow that the family of Mary Kathleen (Kay) MacIntosh, born in Havre Boucher, Nova Scotia on January 31, 1920 announce her passing after a courageous fight with illness at the F.W. Green Memorial Home in Cranbrook on Tuesday, April 28, 2009.
Kay was the eldest of three children born to David and Josephine (King) Crispo. She married Lauchie MacIntosh on November 4, 1941 and they resided in Glace Bay until February 1948. In 1948 they moved to Antigonish following the birth of their daughter. Kay was an active member of the Catholic Women's League until she became ill. She loved her family, her church, knitting and reading. She also loved talking on the phone with her many friends. Kay is survived by her daughter Josie (Ken) Skretting and granddaughter Kathy of Cranbrook, grandson David (Jola Gendall) of Creston and their small bundle of joy, her great grandson Corin who due to her illness did not get to see, but still loved dearly; sister-in-law- Thelma (Eldred) Crispo and many loved nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Lauchie in 1976, her parents, brothers Seward and Eldred, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Prayers and viewing will take place at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook at 7:30 pm on Friday, May 1, 2009.
A Celebration of Life Mass for Kay will be held at Christ The Servant Catholic Church in Cranbrook (1100 - 14th Avenue South) on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 11:00 am. Father Harry Clark will be the Celebrant. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in honour of Kay may do so to the: Patio Fund, c/o the F.W.
