1935 - 2009

It is with sadness that the family of John Richard "Jack" Price, announce his sudden passing on May 24, 2009 at Cranbrook, British Columbia.

Jack was born on February 1, 1935 in Cranbrook. He was raised, went to school and spent his entire life here. In 1953 Jack started with C.P.R., first as a Telegrapher and then as a Conductor, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. Jack had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. He was well loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish Jack's memory are his loving wife, Bertha; seven children: Debbie Price, Red Deer, AB; Martin (Debbie) Price, Red Deer, AB; Laura (Monte) Bissett, Cranbrook, BC; Diana Graalman, Red Deer, AB; Glenda Price, Red Deer, AB; Sonya Parsons, Red Deer, AB; Trevor (Janice) Price, Langley, BC; fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren; brother, Ken (Carol) Price, Castlegar, BC; sisters-in-law, Madeline Price, Margaret Bell and Jean Campbell; his best friend, his dog Jake.

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Margaret Price; three brothers and one sister, Arvon, Bill, Glynn and Margaret.

At Jack's request, there will be no funeral service. In honour of Jack's father, John, memorial donations in honor of Jack may be directed to Cranbrook Minor Hockey, 1777 - 2nd Street North, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 7G9. Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service.
