I met Ray when I worked as a summer student at the Wycliffe Regional Park in the summer of 1993 with Susan Harris and a fellow named Marco. He was one of the best "bosses" I have ever had, or will ever have. He was so patient with us, especially if we did something pretty stupid and piled up a piece of equipment! He encouraged a good work ethic, but never watched over our every move. He led by example, and he was an excellent example and easy to follow. I use these principles today as I supervise my own summer students.
I often thought about him when I returned home to visit my parents. They live just down the road from the park.
I was sadden to learn of Ray's passing, and I hope the family takes comfort in all the positive memories and stories shared like mine.
Take care,
Tracy Larson (nee Dickinson)
