It is with great sorrow that the family of Joseph Gnucci announce his passing at the F.W. Green Memorial Home in Cranbrook on June 14, 2009.

Joe was born and raised in Cranbrook. He married his childhood sweetheart Margaret Beattie in 1954. As a young man, he completed his journeyman printers apprenticeship at the Cranbrook Courier Newspaper, where he also wrote a sports column. Years later he became a part owner/manager of Rocky Mountain Printing, which he formed with his partners.

Over the years, Joe enjoyed fastball and was a member of the Swanson's Mens Team, which won the 1954 Western Canadian Championships. He was also an avid bowler, playing on local teams for many years. Joe retired from the printing business in 1985. In his early retirement years, he kept busy as a counsellor for the Federal Business Development Bank, and also working for the United Way. He enjoyed being a member of the Cranbrook Rotary Club for over 30 years and golfing was his lifelong past-time.
