Obituary of Minnie Thompson
1927 - 2009
Minnie Thompson passed away at Columbia House in Invermere, British Columbia on June 14, 2009. Minnie was born in Goldthorpe, Yorkshire on January 14, 1927. Minnie came to Canada with her family in July of 1963 and moved to the valley in September of 1963. Minnie worked at the post office in Invermere until her retirement as post mistress.
Minnie is survived by her daughter Anne (Louis) McSheffrey of Invermere, British Columbia, and son Peter (Candice) Thompson of Bassano, Alberta; grandchildren: Christine (David) Reiter of Quesnel, British Columbia, Robert McSheffrey of Invermere, British Columbia, Kevin Thompson of Bassano, Alberta, Melissa Thompson of Bassano, Alberta, and her two great grandsons: Daniel Reiter and Anthony Thompson. She is also survived by her brother George (Margaret) Myers and sister Ruth Taylor; sister-in-laws: Margaret (Chad) Chadwick and Lynda (Jeff) Connis; brother-in-law Phil Harris, in England; cousins: Ron (Trudi) Potts of Calgary, Alberta and Bill (Barb) Potts of Quesnel as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews in England and New Zealand.
Minnie was predeceased by her husband Ronald Thompson and sister-in-law Shirley Harris in England.
