Obituary of Frank Edward Phelps
1925 - 2009
Captain Frank Edward George Phelps passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness, in Cranbrook on Monday, August 17, 2009.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Winnifred, daughter Sandra (Roy) Catherall and son Randy. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Chris (Krista) Catherall and Jen (Brad) Eckford; great grandchildren: Jaedynn, Jayce, Reyse, and Robin. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.
Frank served with the Queen's Own Rifles during WWII and landed on Juno Beach in June of 1944. He served the Salvation Army as a Captain for 31 years.
Frank's funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the Salvation Army Church, 533 - Slater Road NW in Cranbrook. Donations in honour of Frank can be made to: The Salvation Army, 533 - Slater Road NW, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 4Y5.
