Obituary of Helen Stephanie Kalyniuk

1917 - 2009

It is with great sorrow that the family of Helen Stephanie Kalyniuk, loving mother and homemaker, announce her passing on Sunday, August 30, 2009 at the Kimberley Special Care Home at 92 years of age.

Helen was born March 27, 1917 in Whitemouth, Manitoba, and moved to Kimberley in 1949. She stayed at home until her children were finished schooling and then took up selling for Watkins in her spare time so that she could get out walking and visiting.

An active member in the community, Helen also enjoyed camping, fishing and being outdoors. She attended bingo every Monday night and kept up with local news and events by reading the Bulletin. She spent the last year and a half at the Pines.

Helen leaves to mourn her passing, her two children: Pam Kalyniuk and Keith Kalyniuk and his wife Deborah and their children Alanna, Lance and Garreth; brother-in-law William Kalyniuk and his family as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews in the United States and Canada. She was predeceased by her husband John in 1998. A graveside service for Helen will take place at Kimberley Cemetery on Friday, September 4, 2009 at 2:00 pm.
