February 3, 1942 - November 1, 2009
On November 1, 2009 in Chiang Mai, Thailand, Ken was suddenly called to his higher purpose. Born February 3, 1942 and pre-deceased by his parents, Albert and Doris and brother Bruce, Ken is survived by his loving wife Donna, his children Greg, Holly (RJ) and Kevin (Tanis), and his adoring grandchildren Andrea, Stacey, Carson, Amie and Carly. Ken grew up in the Shamrock, Saskatchewan area and raised his family in Regina. There he worked for the Leader Post, CKCK Radio and the Regina Exhibition Association, and was actively involved in the community including chairing the Regina Exhibition and being an active Director of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Moving west, with a stop in Calgary, Ken retired to his ranch in Cranbrook, B.C., and to a life of horses, travel, fishing, hockey, motorcycles, and most importantly of all, as much time as possible spent with family and friends.
Ken loved life and family was paramount. To him, nothing was finer than to be surrounded by loved ones, a grandchild on his knee and his trusty sidekick, Jazz, by his side. His love for his family and friends knew no bounds, and new friends were welcomed and cherished. Ken touched many hearts. His family is fortunate to have been able to share him with so many.
A celebration of Ken's life will be held at the Alliance Church in Cranbrook on Tuesday November 17. 2009 at 1:30 pm. Interment will be at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined.
