Obituary of Christabel Violet Doan

1922 - 2009

Christabel Violet Doan of Kimberley, British Columbia passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 20, 2009 in her suite at Garden View Village.

Christabel had just celebrated her 87th birthday on September 15th. She was born in Burry Port, Wales and immigrated to Trail, British Columbia in 1930 at 8 years of age. She moved to Kimberley in 1960, when her husband Lloyd was transferred with Cominco.

Christabel was predeceased by her husband Lloyd on September 19, 1996; son Gary James (age 17) on May 17, 1961 and an infant son Marvin in 1954.

Left to cherish and celebrate our Mother, Grandma and Great Grandma (GG) who forever leaves an imprint on our hearts are her two daughters: Sharon (Don) of Winnipeg; Marlene (Gordon) of Prince George; her two sons: Lloyd of Kimberley; and Darrell (Terri) of Cranbrook; two granddaughters Tamara (Steven) Almas and great grandson Liam of Port Moody; and Lynn Jordan of Victoria; two sisters and their families in Victoria: Daisy May Smith (89) and Joan Elizabeth Mary Best (83); sister-in-law Donna Greenwood of Summerland and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a private family memorial. No flowers by request.
