1929 - 2009

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Armando Tufano announce his passing at East Kootenay Regional Hospital on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 80 years of age.

Armando was born on April 1, 1929 in Forino, Italy. He was raised in Italy where met his love Maria and they married October 18, 1956. He immigrated to Canada on August 18, 1957 where he welcomed two daughters Nancy and Toni. Armando worked 36 years in the lumber industry, namely C.F.I., where he held an A-Ticket in lumber grading until he retired. His pastimes were gardening, fishing, hunting and working in his shop. He especially loved his picnics and bocce with all his family and friends. He was very proud of and adored his 3 grandchildren.

Armando is survived by his wife Maria; daughter Toni (Tony Evans) of Cranbrook; son-in-law Peter Clarotto of Cranbrook; grandchildren: Vincent Capuano and Ryan and Julieana Clarotto; brothers: Luigi Tufano and family of Italy; Joseph Tufano and family of Germany; sisters: Maria Eanacone and family of Italy; Anna Fruncillo and family of Italy; Amelia Perroti and family of Italy.

He was predeceased by his son Armando Jr., daughter Nancy Clarotto and Vincent's beloved father Vince Capuano. Prayers for Armando will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cranbrook on Sunday, September 27, 2009 at 7:00 pm. His funeral service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cranbrook on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow the service at the Westlawn Mausoleum.
