1920 - 2009

Nora went to be with her Lord and Saviour on October 7, 2009 at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital after a short and courageous battle with cancer at 89 years of age.

Nora was born on September 26, 1920 in St. Margaret's hospital in Bromley, Kent, England. She was the eldest of three children. She was trained as a Norland Nurse and cared for evacuated children during the bombings in London. She contracted T.B. and after surgery was unable to return to nursing. She met Bob in 1942 and their marriage took place on September 1, 1945. Nora remained in England until June 1946, when she came to Canada as a War Bride. Nora and Bob lived in Macklin and Brock, Saskatchewan before coming to Cranbrook in May 1947, where their four children were born and raised.

Nora has meant the world to us and will be greatly missed.

The Alliance Church has been a major part of Nora's life since 1948. Nora is survived by her loving husband Bob; her much loved four children: Marguerite (Terry), Shirley, Rob (Janet), Dave (Marny); her adored grandchildren: Brenda (Dave), Michelle (David), Ryan, Gord (Sally), Rob (Nadine), Mike (Michelle), Mark, Hillary, Tim, Heather; and eight precious great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her loving brother Alec (Pam) Gaskin and her many nieces and nephews. Our families wish to extend our heartfelt thanks for the compassion and loving care given by all the doctors, nurses and staff who helped in Mum's care.
