Obituary of Margaret Muise

Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

1923 - 2009

Marg was born on November 29, 1923 to Nellie (Smith) and John Bennett in St. John's Newfoundland. She spent her childhood years in St. John's and at 16 met and fell in love with Frank Muise. Marg and Frank were married on February 1, 1942. Marg and Frank lived in Sydney River, NS, St, John's, Nfld, Malartic, PQ and eventually settled in Riondel, B.C.

Marg's illness brought them to Cranbrook, a city Marg never really got to know, and to the care and excellence of the F.W. Green Home's staff. Marg passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2009 in Cranbrook at the F.W. Green Memorial home with her loving family by her side. Marg was an amazing mother both to her own children and their friends, and a loving and giving grandmother. She was known and loved for her quick wit and wonderful sense of humour. Being the recipient of excellent musical genes, Margaret certainly knew how to deliver a tune. Not being selfish with those genes, she allowed them to be passed down through at least two generations. She was completely addicted to Coronation Street, loved the Blue Jays and could often be found canning and preserving Frank's home grown produce during the commercial breaks.

Marg was predeceased by her husband Frank, son John, beloved granddaughter Celeste Edwards, and siblings Mary Codner and Tom Bennett. Marg leaves to mourn her passing, her children: Carl (CC), Cindy-Lou (Gord Dobson), Andrea Grossman (Michael); grandchildren: Josh (Renae), Daniel Toews, Jessica Lamontagne, Matthew Muise, Kate Trueman (Blair) , Samara Edwards (Chris Weisschnur), Emily Kennedy (Kris), William Grossman; and great grandchildren Zachary and Jenna Muise, Emma and Myrriah Lamontagne, Cody and Dalton Trueman and Claire Kennedy.

Visitation for Marg will take place on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Her funeral service will be held on Friday, October 30, 2009 at Christ The Servant Roman Catholic Church at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow at Kimberley Cemetery. Memorial donations in honour of Marg can be made to the Royal Canadian Legion or charity of your choice. Margaret's family especially wishes to thank Dr. Ed Witten for the special love and care which he provided.
