Obituary of William Lewis Draper

1921 - 2009

It is with great sadness that the family of William Lewis Draper announces his passing on Saturday, November 7, 2009 in Cranbrook, British Columbia at 88 years of age.

Bill was born on March 7, 1921 in Cranbrook. Bill worked as a government agent in several communities, including Cranbrook, for 39 years. He was a veteran of WWII and was extremely proud that he served for his country.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Violet, three children: Dean (Jean) Draper, Diane Embury (Kirk) and Penny (Andy) Christensen; his grandchildren: Matthew (Leah), Kirstin (Darcy), Kelsey (Bryan), Jessy (Rhianna), Lee (Modina), Carianne (Brent), Cole, Erik, and Ana; six great grandsons plus numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Lillie and Charles and by his brother and sister-in-law Arthur and Elizabeth.

A memorial service for Bill will be held on Friday, November 13, 2009 at 3:00 pm at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook. A reception at the funeral home will follow the service.
