Obituary of Donald Alexander Elliott

1916 - 2009

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Donald Alexander Elliott announces his passing at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 93 years of age.

Don was born on October 29, 1916 in Keller, Saskatchewan. He moved to Cranbrook in 1945, after serving in the army, and worked for Cominco until 1976. Don then gained employment with Acklands for a number of years. During this time, he purchased a farm and had many happy memories there with family and friends. After Don retired, he purchased a new truck and trailer and traveled. He made many trips back to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan where he and his wife Bertha were raised.

Don will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Don is survived by his son Grant (Maxine) Elliott; daughter Donna (Chuck) Olson; 5 grandchildren: Randy Elliott, Danny (Sandy) Elliott, Terry (Shawna) Elliott, Eric (Donna) Olson, Joanne (Ron) Demaniuk; 9 great grandchildren: Dane Elliott, Kayla Elliott, Cody Elliott, Kelsey Elliott, Alex Elliott, Shane Demaniuk, Megan Demaniuk, Nicholas Olson and Ethan Arkinstall; and 1 great great grandson: Kade Elliott.

He was predeceased by his wife Bertha on November 6, 1998 and his son Rod on August 1, 2001.
