1926 - 2009

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Roy Walton, peacefully at home, on November 12, 2009 at 83 years of age.

Roy was born in Fort Garry, Manitoba on October 26, 1926. He returned to his parents' birthplace, England, with his family and served in the Royal Artillery from 1944 to 1952. He was in active service in India, Burma, Malaya. In 1950 Roy married the love of his life Pamela. In 1957 he and Pamela returned to Canada. Roy was a Mason for 36 years and was Past Master of Columbia Lodge #38 and twice Past Master of Selkirk Lodge #55. Roy leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 59 years, Pamela; one son Garry (Bonnie); two granddaughters: Calli and Catherine, all of Medicine Hat, Alberta.

He also leaves behind three sisters in Great Britain: Rev. Marion Fry, Betty Barltrop and Maureen (Kenneth) Canney; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brother-in-laws: Henry Fry and Joe Barltrop.

At Roy's request there will not be a funeral service. Roy will be sadly missed.
