Born: March 25, 1940 in Leroy, Saskatchewan

Passed Away: March 5, 2010 in Cranbrook, British Columbia at 69 years of age.

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Ed Harder. He was born and raised in Leroy, Saskatchewan an married Linda Bley of Anneheim, in October 1963. They purchased four quarters of land and farmed until moving to Cranbrook, British Columbia, in 1979. He was employed by The Cranbrook Golf Course as a Maintenance Superintendant until he retired in 2000.

Ed liked camping, traveling, crafts (his mitten and slipper making), and loved his computers and electronics. He had every toy that you could imagine, but the most important thing is his life was his family.

He is survived by his loving wife Linda of 47 years, his son Eldon (Jennifer) and three daughters, Shelley (Bud), Janet (Reg), Gail (Scott), 5 grandchildren: Billy-Ryan, Terry, Kristi, Keri, and Derek, 1 great grandson Malachy. He is also survived by three sisters and two brothers, Greta Barns - Humboldt Saskatchewan, Anne Casey - Cranbrook, Rhea (Bill) Lapachuck - Edmonton, Tim and John Harder, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Nathan and Caroline, and two brothers and two sisters.

Prayers will be held at McPherson's Funeral Home in Cranbrook on Wednesday, March 10 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be Thursday, March 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ The Servant Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be at Serenity Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ed's honour to the: Heart & Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon, Cranbrook Unit, #101, 105 - 9th Avenue South, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 2M1.
