1942 - 2014

On the morning of Thursday, January 16, 2014. Stan John Nolin passed away at the East Kootenay Hospital at the age of 71 years.

Stan was born in Consort, Alberta on March 15, 1942. He spent a few years in Alberta working in camps as a heavy equipment operator building roads. He came to BC following job opportunities. Stan owned and operated business's including hauling water with his own water truck in Northern BC and Alberta.

In August of 1980 Stan married Eileen. Stan and Eileen owned and operated their own apartment building in Kimberley and Cranbrook.

One of Stan's hobbies was training and breaking horses. He was involved in the Rodeo circuit and was an active cowboy in his younger years. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping and has perused many trips in the mountains with his horse and mule. Stan tried his hand in many different fields over the years. He was a carpenter by trade and a hard worker. He worked for the school board in Kimberley and he always had many projects on the go. He was a perfectionist at whatever he did.

Stan leaves to morn his wife Eileen Nolin and her two children Roxie (Terry) and Dianne (Douglas); his three children Anthony (Joanne), William (Susan), and Lea (David); and his grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends.

At Stan's request cremation will take place. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Arthritis Society.
