Obituary of Brent Ronald Pighin

1985 - 2010

Brent Ronald Pighin born April 4, 1985 in Cranbrook, British Columbia went to be with the Lord on March 29, 2010.

It is with the deepest, deepest sorrow that the family announces the tragic news of Brent's passing just 6 days before his 25th birthday.

Precious, forever cherished son of Ron and Marisa Pighin; much loved brother to Robert (Traci) and Brandon (Erin); beloved grandson to his always treasured nonna, Santina Sartorel; nephew to John, Bruno (Michelle) Sartorel, Rosanna (Lawrence) Shubert; much loved and looked up to cousin of Adam, Aaron and Andrew Shubert and Emily Sartorel; nephew to Judy (Harold) Kriese, Gary (Joanne) Pighin, Maurice, Norman (Leanne) Pighin, Patsy (Wayne) Marcer; respected cousin of Troy (Chantelle) and Lori (Jason) Kriese, Stacey (Adam) and Darren Pighin, Krista (Neil) and Tyler (Natasha) Pighin, Rosanna (Sebastian) and Travis Marcer (Jessie). Brent was predeceased by his grandfather Robert Pighin Sr., nonno Bruno Sartorel Sr. and grandmother Yvonne Pighin.

Brent was a guy who lived life to the very fullest. He brought immense joy to all who knew and loved him. He had a special way about him in his relationships with people and it didn't matter if you were 5 or 60, his ability to connect with you was totally perfect. Brent was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. Travel, bull riding and a hard day of work were all a part of who Brent was, but above all, family was his main focus - he loved his family dearly and would do anything for them. He lived his life for his family. Brent's love for his brothers was immeasurable and the sacred bond that they share between them will always remain a part of their solid sense of being.

Brent had a very close relationship with God; he possessed a strong faith that never faltered. He knew the Lord was always in his midst. It didn't matter who you were or from what walk of life you came, Brent could connect; he never judged, but instead accepted people for who they were. He could click with anyone.

Brent was a passionate hockey player and continued to play at a Beer League level with his work mates in recent years. Fishing, hunting, horseback riding, weightlifting, swimming and golf with a mean hockey swing - to name but a few of Brent's hobbies.

He loved his country music which you could hear before you could see the truck! You always knew when Brent was just around the corner. Brent could often be found at the rodeos in Eureka and he loved the Wycliffe Rodeo in August.

Brent loved to sing and dance - the two step was his specialty! He made a point of always having fun - he made the best of circumstances and just generally dealt with what came his way. Brent was not a quitter and when he was faced with challenges he took things head on and did what needed to be done. "Git r' done" was his motto!

Brent has left a huge hole in the hearts of all. He will be greatly missed by his family, his aunts, uncles, cousins, and many many friends.

"PIGHIN" may you rest in peace - "The best damn cowboy that ever lived."

A prayer service was held at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook for Brent on Friday, April 2, 2010. His funeral mass was held on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at the Cranbrook Alliance Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Brent may be made to: The BC Chapter of Canadian Amputee Golf Association which will assist Brent's good buddy Mike on his journey.
