September 13, 1925 ~ December 30, 2019 Dad left us to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He was confirmed August 2, 1942 at the St. Marks Lutheran Church in Delia AB. The passages for his confirmation were Revelations 2:10 and Matthew 6:33. Dad was predeceased by his parents Christian & Catherine Berkhiem, his wife Irene, sisters Annie, Molly, Margaret and Freda, sister-in-law Doreen, brothers-in-law Jacob, Harry, Albert and Jim. One grandchild and one great grandchild. He is survived by his six children Susan (Don), Greg, Frank (Isabel), Penny (Randy), David (Justine), Mark (Liliana), sisters Agnes and Isabell. Dad has 19 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Dad was born in Drumheller AB, where the family farmed after immigrating to Canada from Russia and landing in Quebec on June 25, 1925. In 1946 Dad traveled to Canal Flats and worked for Cranbrook Sash & Door which later became Crestbrook Forest Industries. Dad enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Canal Flats Rod and Gun Club and the Good Sams. The family moved to Cranbrook in 1966 where Dad continued working for CFI and retiring in 1983. Three months later they moved to Vancouver Island where they enjoyed fishing for those big salmon and golfing. Dad moved back to Cranbrook in 1994 to again be closer to family. The family would like to thank the staff at Garden View Village, the entire staff at the F.W. Green Home, Dr. L Davis and Dr. Lefevre for the exceptional care given to Dad.
