Obituary of Bertha Abwander

ABWANDER, Bertha, the angels have taken flight with our dear mother. Jan 10, 1928 - Jan 2, 2020, predeceased by her husband Josef Abwander in 2010, and her dear brother Alois Stetter in 2019 Germany. She is survived by her children Ingrid Cepin (Steve), Angie and Randy Russell, Pete and Pauline Abwander, grandchildren Ryan Bisson, Adrian Bisson (Katherine Ann), her pride and joy great- grandsons Ashton and Logan. Oma to Nick Russell, Monica and Doug Freeman, Cindy Abwander and David Abwander as well as many great grandchildren. In Germany nephew Ernst and Rita Stetter, niece Renate and Alfredo Becker and families. Leaving her homeland in Munich, Germany, venturing to Canada in her young years in hopes of a new beginning. Windsor was home for many years and later moved to Kimberley B.C., a city that tugged at both her and Joe’s heart strings offering a little bit of the old country. Enjoying the Rockies and sunshine in Arizona throughout the years, and her love for animals and gardening. Mom brought joy to all that heard her talented voice and accomplished yodeling, taking pride as she took to stage with her daughter’s accordion accompaniment. She will be missed by all. Rest in peace Mom. Many thanks to the wonderful care that she received from all the staff at the Pines. At the request of the family there will be no service following cremation.
