Obituary of Jim Dobell
James “Jim” Glenfield Dobell
May 22, 1942 ~ January 4, 2020
With sadness the family wishes to announce the passing of Jim Dobell, on January 4, 2020.
Jim was one of a kind, and always ready for a new adventure. He had many hobbies over the years including skiing, camping, hiking, canoeing and sailing. In his younger years (1961) Jim joined the Navy where he had many adventures and shenanigans. He moved from Nipawin to Vancouver Island, Kelowna, Penticton and finally settling in Marysville at Kokanee Cottage with his wife Carolyne. Together they enjoyed a bit of travelling and retirement. Jim lost his long-fought battle with lung cancer.
Jim is survived by his children Melanie Kirk and Michael Dobell (Shauna), Carolyne’s children Jay Beechinor (Judy Ohama) and Patrick Beechiner (Satoko), his six siblings Lynn Johnson, Grant Dobell, Wendy Lamb, Mark Dobell, Faye King and Bonnie Cardinal, seven grandchildren Mckenzie, Tanner (Melanie), Matthew, Tanner, Kylee (Michael), Jacob (Jay), Adam (Patrick) as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Ralf and Leona Dobell and his wife Carolyne Reed.
There will be no services at this time.
