Obituary of Brian Curtis Butcher

Please share a memory of Brian to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

February 14, 1960 – July 3, 2020

With deep sadness we announce the loss of our wonderful Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, Brother, and Good Friend, on July 3, 2020 at the age of 60. Brian passed away peacefully, and for that we are grateful.

Brian was born in Fort Macleod, Alberta to Len and Tena Butcher. He moved around during his life, in 1972 from Swift Current, Saskatchewan to Cranbrook, B.C., with his family. Brian made many long-time friends in Cranbrook, through school and working at C.P.R. He relocated to Alberta in the early 80’s where he had a successful welding career. When Brian started suffering from his lengthy illness, he returned to Cranbrook, to live with family, spending the rest of his days enjoying the outdoors as much as he was able. We never heard him complain, displaying incredible inner strength, or as some will chuckle at now, that stubbornness we loved about him!

Brian loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, campfires, outdoor sports, whatever he could do outside. He was especially proud of his children, Jake, and Kayla, as well as his nieces and nephews, great nephews, and granddaughter.

Left to cherish his memories, his son Jake, daughter Kayla, granddaughter Isabella, sister Melanie Walsh (Gord), sister Pam Robinson, nephews Jason Faulkner (Terri), Kyle Faulkner (Lori), Mike Turner, nieces Lindsay Turner, Dallas Robinson, great nephews Aiden, Ashton and Khade Robinson, special friends Del and John, and many other friends and relatives, too numerous to mention.

He was predeceased by his parents Len and Tena Butcher, and bother Dale Butcher.

Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Services.
