Kathleen “Dianne” Nightingale
(nee Lawson)
February 18, 1950 – August 17, 2020
It is with profound sadness that the family of Dianne Nightingale announces her passing on August 17, 2020 at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital. Dianne was born in Preeceville, Saskatchewan to parents Irene and Earl Lawson. Dianne spent her childhood growing up on the farm, attending school in Okla and Kelvington, SK. Dianne would later meet her husband Wilfred ‘Dick’ Nightingale and on August 12, 1967 they were married. Dianne and Dick lived in Okla, SK on a diary farm until moving to Calgary and later to Cranbrook in 1970. Dianne loved her family and friends; she also enjoyed quilting and baking. She was an active member of the King’s Chapel United Pentecostal Church, The Cranbrook Quilters' Guild, as well she was very actively involved in the Cranbrook Seniors Centre. Dianne adored and was immensely proud of her 4 granddaughters, which she spoke of often.
Dianne with be greatly missed by her son Ray (Jo-Anne) Nightingale, daughter Tammy (Sheldon) Boe. Granddaughters – Miranda Nightingale, Tamika Nightingale (Evan) and Kelti Boe (Ryan) and Rylie Boe (Shane), Siblings Ken Lawson, Donna (Darwin) Chalupiak, Gloria Lawson, Tim Lawson, and Shelly (Jack) Scebenski. She is also survived by four sisters-in-law: June (Cliff) Cook, Anne Nightingale, Ernestine Nightingale and Nancy Daymond, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dianne was predeceased by her husband Wilfred ‘Dick’ Harold Nightingale, her mother Irene (Dueck) Lawson, her father Earl Warren Lawson, her uncle Fred Lawson, and her brother Alan Keith Lawson.
A private family service will be held. Those wishing to make memorial donations in honour of Dianne may do so to the Canadian Cancer Society.
