Our condolences to Vicki and family
“Biker Brian” as he was known in our household, was such a generous soul, a quiet shyness as he’d look at the ground before he’d suggest a fix or a story from the mill or a memory-at least when I was around.
Clark of course knew Brian from work at the mill in Port Alberni. Later Clark and I would visit a few times back and forth with he and Vicki or at Tim’s-for the refill to his mug he always carried it seemed.
Brian visited Clark while in his darkest days of depression in the hospital or came to our house. Sometimes not saying much, but just a friend knowing another friend was in need. The drop by visits in his truck with his dog and later on, Clark joined the bicycle rides around town with Brian (in his hi vis vest and helmet) and Jack. We would also see Brian alone on his bike while we were walking around the Kitsuksis Dyke Trail, with his eyes glittering and his shy smile grin and dog treats at the ready.
Brian and Vicki shared plums and the blackberry best place to pick spot. Brian was one of the friends that came to my rescue while Clark was travelling in China during the Dec 2019 rains/flood. Snaked the drains, a few early phone calls of distress from myself to return with extension cord, sump pump and trouble light in the mud with his sore knee! Following up a few days to check the sump as the rains continued. Your tools from your garage sale will be used with great memories Biker Brian!
We wish you a time of healing and remembrance as sadness is replaced with good memories Vicki.
