It has been a number of years since Rick and I were last in contact. We worked for Westroc at the same time. I worked closely with Risk as an analyst, helping him to explain his equipment needs and mining plans to the Leadership team and the business owners. Rick had a clear understanding of what was best for the business and through my involvement with him I gained a great deal of his knowledge, which helped me greatly as I grew in the business. He decided to retired and devote his time to his many other pursuits shortly after he was assigned to report to me. I always suspected that those two events were not unrelated, however Rick, being the gentleman he was, never made me feel responsible. He was a great miner, a good leader and a person who earned respect from those who met him. I have thought of him often over the years and am sad to read of his passing. He has left me and other that knew him with many memories. He may be gone but he will not be forgotten, particularly his love of flying. "Soar in Peace" Rick.
